Things about me

Hi,
my name is Jacqueline Neculqueo, I'm nineteen years old. I was born in Santiago but my family is from the south of Chile, in the city of Temuco. My mom and dad migrated to Region Metropolitana before they marry with each other, at the age of 15 and 18 respectively.
In my high school, i was very interested in music (like string instruments and that kind of stuff, beeing a musician) but the circumstances incline me to the tv and comunication area.
In the past year, it was very difficult for me to habituate to the online classes in the university. But here I'm yet.
Recently, I make a movie about how stressful is for a single mother to work and study in the university at the same time. The principal actress is Ingrid Cruz, she interpreted the role to perfection. 
Not long ago I discovered that I don't have any hobbie. Funny thing, literally in my free time i do nothing. Maybe could be to watch videos, but that's not interesting enough for calling it "a hobbie".

Why did I choose this major?

When I was a kid, i wanted to be a chef. I think that was because at that time, I  wanted to make people happy. Then, when I grew up, I began to think that nothing was made for me. At least, nothing that I wanted to study formally. In the last year of high school, one of my fauvorite teachers said that cinema was a "very good" option for me and she would be glady to help me to apply to the university.  So, in the list of 10 options at the moment of applying, I just put a single one: cinema at Universidad de Chile. And it worked. So far, the experience is regular. I've met a lot of people, I discovered the stress and I think that I depend more of myself. It's exactly how I imagined it would be. In the future, I don't know what will become of me.  It would be nice to make movies and live on that, though.

How can I make the world a better place?

As you know, I am currently studying Cinema at the university.  At this point in my career, it's not very clear to me how my studies could have a positive impact on society. I would like to work on films that focus on bringing different realities to light and help develop self-critical thinking in people,  but the truth is that I don't expect to reach large crowds. So, I believe that my contribution affects people more than the world itself. It's like a change of mentality.  And even though I'm aiming at a smaller audience, I think it's important that a reflection is a progressive thing. For now, that's what I think about my studies and how they would contribute to the world.
